MARISA GRAYSON
Hello. My name is Marisa Grayson.
I am a Cognitive Systems Engineer, which offers a unique perspective on resilient design and the user-centered experience. I focus on understanding people as they do real work and are assisted by technology. Using my skill set, I could drive new innovations and direction toward fulfilling explicit and implicit user needs. I am currently seeking opportunities in the Raleigh-Durham area in North Carolina focused on resilient systems, accident investigation, and user-centered design.
I believe an interdisciplinary education is critical to success in the workplace, which is one reason I applied for the Technology Leaders Program as well as pursuing a Psychology and Systems Integration minor. We live in a world with a complicated mixture of people interacting with technology on a daily basis. As systems become more complex, engineers must adapt to changing environments, especially in terms of understanding the user's capabilities and motivations. Since I have experience with computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering, as well as psychology, I feel I am well prepared to tackle any problem presented to me. Additionally, I will quickly learn new subjects to leverage my skills to their fullest potential. I greatly enjoy exploring new domains and topic areas to expand my knowledge and skill set.
